In Memory of Rose Director Friedman

The Milton Friedman Institute for Research in Economics (MFI) will host a memorial for Rose Director Friedman, who passed away August 18, 2009. For years, Rose was a vibrant and valued presence in the University of Chicago community.
Rose Friedman received a bachelor's degree in philosophy from the University of Chicago, and continued her training in economics at the University. Rose was an accomplished writer on economics and public policy, and was an active working partner to her husband, Milton Friedman, Nobel Laureate in Economics and long time faculty member at the University of Chicago. Speaking at the event will be:

- Stephen Stigler, Chairman Department of Statistics, Ernest DeWitt Burton Distinguished Service Professor Department of Statistics and the College at the University of Chicago
- Arnold Harberger, Professor in Economics at UCLA and the Gustavus F. and Ann M. Swift Distinguished Service Professor Emeritus in Economics at the University of Chicago
- Guity Becker, Professor Emeritus, Department of History, UIC
- Bob Chitester, Executive Producer, Free to Choose Media
A luncheon will be served at the conclusion of the event.
