Human Capital and Economic Opportunity: A Global Working Group

About the Working Group

The Human Capital and Economic Opportunity Working Group was awarded a grant from the Institute for New Economic Thinking (INET) to initiate a three-year program of human capital and economic opportunity research.

James Heckman of the University of Chicago directs the Human Capital Working Group. The co-director is Robert Dugger of Hanover Investment Group. The working group is managed by Alison Baulos and Jennifer Pachon. The Becker Friedman Institute for Research in Economics provides technical infrastructure and support.

The working group will meet at least six times a year, generally every two months, via teleconferences and webinars hosted on this website. The time of the webinars will rotate through East Asian, South Asian, European, and U.S. time zones to maximize the ease of member participation. The working group's webinar resources will be available to working group members to host subgroup meetings at any time.
