Costas Arkolakis

Costas Arkolakis's research focuses on the fields of international economics, macroecnomics and industrial organization. His recent work studies innovation and production in the global economy and examines trade under monopolistic competition.

Arkolakis recently gave the Keynote speech at the CESifo Global Economy Conference in Munich. He was also awarded the 'Excellence in Refereeing Award' in 2010 by the American Economic Review. In addition to being a faculty member at Yale University, Arkolakis has been a visiting scholar at the Federal Reserve Bank of Minneapolis, a visiting assistant professor at the University of Chicago, and a faculty research fellow at the National Bureau of Economic Research.

Arkolakis received his bachelor's degree in economics from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki in Greece. He earned his PhD in economics at the University of Minnesota.
