Vincent Crawford

Crawford’s research focuses on game-theoretic microeconomics, with emphases on bargaining and arbitration, strategic communication, matching markets, learning, and coordination. His current research areas are behavioral and experimental game theory and behavioral economics more generally.

Crawford is a Fellow of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences and the Econometric Society. He currently serves on the editorial boards of the Journal of Economic Literature, Games and Economic Behavior, and New Zealand Economic Papers. From 2005 to 2009 he was coeditor of the American Economic Review. He has also served as associate editor of Econometrica, the Journal of Economic Theory, and other journals; and on review boards for the National Science Foundation.

Crawford has given invited or plenary lectures at the Econometric Society Seventh World Congress; the Far Eastern Meetings of the Econometric Society; the First and Third World Congresses of the Game Theory Society; and the International and North American Meetings of the Economic Science Association; the 26th Arne Ryde Symposium. He has also given mini-courses at numerous universities around the world. He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences and of the Econometric Society, as well as a Charter Member, Game Theory Society

Crawford earned his doctorate in economics at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
