George Tavlas’ research has focused on international monetary policy, monetary union, and exchange rates.

He is currently a Director at the Bank of Greece. In the past he has worked for the IMF and the U.S. State Department. He has also consulted for the OECD, and served as a guest scholar at the Brookings Institution, where he published Greece’s Economic Performance and Prospects in 2002.
