Michael Waugh

Michael Waugh's research focuses on international trade and economic growth and development. His recent work explores elasticity and cyclical fluctuations in international trade.

Waugh joined the New York University Stern School of Business faculty in September 2009. Previously, he was a research economist with the Federal Reserve Bank of Minneapolis and as a consultant to the World Bank.

He is the recipient of several fellowships and awards, including the Seashore Dissertation Year Fellowship at the University of Iowa in 2007–8 and the Graduate Dean's Distinguished Dissertation Award at the University of Iowa in 2010.

Waugh received his AM in economics from Fordham University and his PhD in economics from the University of Iowa.
