This conference brought together a group of scholars to honor the life and research of Ronald Coase, who celebrates his 100th birthday and the 50th anniversary of the publication of his paper "The Problem of Social Cost" this year. Presentations focused on topics that have been profoundly influenced by Coase's work, including telecommunications policy, airline regulation and development, environmental economics, economic development, the organization of the firm, and questions of transaction costs and social rationality.
