Jean-Charles Rochet’s research interests focus on banking, finance, and insurance and industrial organization. Specifically, his recent work has explored liquidity risk and corporate demand for insurance; innovations, rents and risks; the life cycle of the financial sector and other speculative issues; and the future of financial regulation. He has also examined health insurance and competition among health plans
Rochet joined the faculty of Universite de Toulouse I as a professor of mathematics and economics in 1988. He also is a research fellow at CEPR, a fellow of the Econometric Society, and a senior member of the Institut Universitaire de France. In 2010 he won the prize of the journal Risques.
