Harald Uhlig is a specialist in applied quantitative theory and applied quantitative methods in economics. Uhlig’s research interests include business cycles, financial markets, economic policy, Bayesian time series analysis and the psychological foundations of dynamic decision theory. In particular, he is interested in studying the interrelation of macroeconomics and financial markets, and the role of monetary and fiscal policy. Uhlig is a fellow of the Econometric Society and a recipient of the Gossen Preis of the Verein für Socialpolitik, awarded annually to an economist in the German-language area whose work has gained international reputation.
