Having spent 19 years at the World Bank, most recently as social protection advisor in the Africa region, Harold Alderman is currently a consultant to the Bank. With a Master's degree in nutrition (Cornell) and a PhD in Economics (Harvard) his research has naturally gravitated to the intersection of health, food policy, and economics in developing countries. Prior to joining the World Bank in 1991, he worked at the International food Policy Research Institute for ten years.
