I am a PhD student in Economics at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. My main research focus is on the interdisciplinary study of social inequality with particular interests in intergenerational mobility and behavioral genetics. My current work focuses on two areas. First, I am interested in understanding the interplay of genetics, parental effects and social influences on intergenerational mobility. This will is designed to explain the mechanisms behind the observed levels of intergenerational persistence of socioeconomic status across generations. Second, I am attempting to develop new approaches to the measurements of the respective roles of genetic and environmental factors that move beyond conventional approaches and overcome identification problems that have been shown to plague much of the classical behavioral genetics literature.
