Human Capital and Economic Opportunity: A Global Working Group

Pietro Biroli

University of Chicago
PhD student

I am a PhD student in Economics at the University of Chicago and an organizing member of The Chicago Initiative for Economic Development and Early Childhood (CEDEC). I am interested in the process of capabilities formation and human capital development in children and adolescents. In particular, my current research explores the role of family investments, early childhood interventions, and interactions between personality and health in explaining the long-term inequality across gender, ethnicity, and socioeconomic status. More broadly, I am interested in Labor Economics and Applied Econometrics.
