I received my PhD in Economics from the University of Iowa in 2006 and I am an Assistant Professor of Economics at Colgate University. I am a macroeconomist working on human capital investment and default. My earlier research analyzes the interaction of education opportunities, college financing, and repayment incentives under the current Federal Student Loan Program (FSLP). Recently, I have extended this research in several ways: i) to incorporate the risk of failing to graduate from college and ii) to study the interaction between loans under the FSLP and other types of credit, such as private student loans and credit cards.
